Salvation Army Residence Center

Windsong Charters donated a free charter and raised $500 for the Salvation Army Residence Center. The money goes to a fund to purchase, uniforms, school supplies, back packs & new shoes for children at the center. Many times the children have experienced domestic violence and are forced to leave everything they own behind. Windsong is happy to help these children in need! Let us know if you are interested in donating clothes to the kids (infants to 18 years) as well as adults.

On April 27th the kids and family's boarded Windsong after hamburgers and soft drinks for a 3 hour sailing event. Captain Bob showing just how to sail Windsong... Arrrrrr. A special thanks to Deana and Troy Jones for helping out. Troy is a cancer survivor.

Bay Day in May 2010...

Bay Day is a one-day celebration presented by the Galveston Bay Foundation and numerous community partners. The event will be held on Saturday, May 15 on the Kemah Boardwalk from 11:00am – 5:00pm. It is a fun event for families and adults that allows attendees to experience and learn more about Galveston Bay, the largest bay in Texas and one of the most productive estuaries in the country! Listen in as Executive Director, Bob Stokes, tells Talk of the Bay about the event and the fun to be had by all.
