Windsong Chosen as the 2006
Lead Committee Boat for the Texas' 45th annual Christmas
Boat Parade.
Windsong
is a new boat in the Galveston Bay community.
Windsong was
purchased by the salty "Seadog" Captain Bob and his novice sailor wife,
Katherine last May in Miami, Florida.
They fell in
love with the romance and style of this 28 year old Formosa boat! They looked
at a lot of opportunities but Windsong called out to both of them.
After they added
navigational equipment, they sailed her from Miami to Key West and then on a
rum line straight to Galveston over 950 miles.
This adventure lasted 8
days! They had Buffet playing, saw tons of Dolphin, beautiful evening
stars & even launched a successful "message in a bottle".
They have learned historical
facts about the Formosa boat making and found out that the hull was
constructed in Taiwan and then shipped to China for the finish out.
Seven families were
contracted to utilize their skills on design and cabinetry. Windsong
boasts beautiful hand carved doors and a fantastic open design. |

The Captain stands 6'3" and
practically walks through the boat without banging his head....this is a
good thing!
They look forward to showing
the renovations and updating of the interior & exterior by local craftsmen.
Windsong's destiny is to be restored and updated to the elegance she
deserves.
